HANYS Solutions Partners with SpectraMedix to Offer PQRS Solution to Hospitals and Health Systems in New York State

The SpectraMedix PQRS Solution supports hospital-based and individual eligible providers through the entire PQRS reporting process to avoid CMS penalties

East Windsor, NJ — September 2, 2015 — SpectraMedix has partnered with HANYS Solutions, a subsidiary of the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS), to provide New York’s eligible professionals (EPs) with an ONC Certified Solution to lead them through the entire Patient Quality Reporting System (PQRS) reporting process and avoid CMS financial penalties. The SpectraMedix PQRS Solution, which is a part of the eMeasures360™ Platform, offers EPs (including many hospital-based providers) reporting individually or as a group the best chance to not only avoid PQRS penalties but gain Value-based Payment Modifier (VBPM) incentives.

“PQRS reporting is a complex process that affects both outpatient and inpatient providers,” said Michael Ilnicki, President and CEO, HANYS Solutions. “SpectraMedix’s PQRS Solution provides a comprehensive and easy to use one-stop portal to guide EPs through the entire PQRS reporting process, ensuring that results are reported satisfactorily to avoid penalties. The Solution also provides measure drill-downs to help leadership, providers and analysts evaluate performance and take action to improve quality.”

“We are pleased to be named a preferred partner by HANYS Solutions and to offer providers across New York State a comprehensive solution to streamline PQRS reporting,” said Raj Lakhanpal, MD, FRCP, FACEP, Chief Executive Officer, SpectraMedix. “The SpectraMedix PQRS Solution also enables EPs to capture data one time and report to satisfy requirements for both the PQRS the Value-based Payment Modifier programs.”

EPs that do not report PQRS measures in 2015 are subject to a 2% payment reduction, plus an additional Value-based Modifier reduction of 2% or 4% (depending on group size) on their Medicare Physician Fee Payments in 2017. EPs include physicians, practitioners and therapists paid under or based on the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) that are in Group or Solo Practices or hospital-based.

The SpectraMedix PQRS Solution and end to end reporting process enables EPs to:

  • Collect and consolidate data from all available sources including EHRs, claims and other practice management systems
  • Assess data quality and availability for PQRS reporting against program requirements, including identifying data inconsistencies and gaps in data to provide the opportunity for data reconciliation
  • PQRS calculation and reporting for hospital- and practice-based specialties
  • Ongoing quality management and performance improvement capabilities to track results, identify and close data and patient care gaps, understand reasons for measure exclusions, and benchmark performance against peers, national benchmarks and prior reporting periods

eMeasures360™ is ONC 2014 Edition Certified for all 64 outpatient and all 29 inpatient eCQMs for reporting to CMS. Our comprehensive Measures Database also includes over 150 PQRS measures for reporting through a QCDR or Qualified Registry partner.
