The engagement will enable the medical center to aggregate data to monitor key performance indicators around value-based purchasing, readmissions, hospital acquired conditions, and for population health management
East Windsor, NJ — November 18, 2015 — SpectraMedix, a leading provider of solutions that accelerate the transition to fee for value and risk-based payment models, will provide Richmond University Medical Center (RUMC) a Solution to deliver actionable analytics and reporting for quality improvement and population health programs, including the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program, and facilitate faster turnaround of information requests.
The integrated Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), clinical and business intelligence, and data visualization Solution will enable RUMC personnel to create interactive dashboards for monitoring, measuring and reporting on quality initiatives with financial implications such as reducing preventable readmissions, value based purchasing, hospital acquired conditions and infections, and length of stay.
“The EDW and self-service reporting capabilities provided by SpectraMedix will offer RUMC an easy to configure system for transforming data in our electronic health record (EHR) and emergency department systems into valuable information for monitoring and enhancing operations and quality,” said Elizabeth Wolff, MD, MPA, Senior Vice President of Care Transformation, Quality, and IT, Richmond University Medical Center.
SpectraMedix will aggregate hospital data from RUMC’s MEDITECH EHR system and claims, EDIMS database, and ambulatory data from their eClinicalWorks EHR system, into an EDW comprised of a patient-centric data repository.
The Solution’s interactive reporting capabilities will enable Quality, IT and Informatics Staff to generate user-defined analytics and reports that enable Care Teams to:
- Identify and track patients with a high risk for 30-day readmission so that appropriate care can be delivered and financial penalties avoided
- Identify and track patients at risk for developing hospital acquired complications or infections so that appropriate care can be delivered and financial penalties avoided
- Monitor and streamline length of stay in the hospital
- Identify DSRIP and ACO members within the EDW for reporting and analytics
- Track and improve DSRIP measures to enhance quality of care and increase incentives
- Stratify RUMC’s DSRIP patient populations and sub-populations with predictive risk models
- Drill-down to patient and provider level data
“We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with Richmond University Medical Center to integrate and maximize the value of their data assets to accelerate their key quality improvement initiatives,” said Raj Lakhanpal, MD, Chief Executive Officer of SpectraMedix. “We look forward to supporting RUMC in their commitment to providing the highest quality of care to patients.”
